Q: Why should I become a Volunteer?
A: Reptiles and amphibians need our help more than ever! Not only are their native species declining in the wild, but their captive counterparts are suffering from abuse, release, and neglect – like cats and dogs do.
Q: I don’t feel comfortable with medical cases… can I still foster?
A: Of course! We receive healthy animals that require a foster home for a 30-day quarantine period before they are available for adoption.
Q: Do I need to pay for the vet appointments, equipment, etc.?
A: No, the only expenses a volunteer is responsible for are their respected electric bill, substrate changes, and food.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

This month, we’re beyond excited to celebrate Liz, one of our incredible volunteers who has brought so much warmth, care, and dedication to our rescue family. 💚
Liz has been fostering Larry the Leopard Gecko, and the love she’s shown him has been nothing short of amazing. From making sure his habitat is perfect, to giving him all the attention (and snacks!) a gecko could dream of, Liz has gone above and beyond to make sure Larry feels safe, healthy, and loved.
Her compassion, reliability, and enthusiasm shine through in everything she does. Liz doesn’t just care for the animals — she’s an uplifting presence on our team, always willing to help out, share her knowledge, and make everyone around her smile.
We are so lucky to have her as part of our rescue family. Thank you, Liz, for your kindness, your time, and your heart. You are truly one of a kind, and we love you for it! 💛🦎
