Welcome a Unique Companion

Process

Every decision we make is in the best interest of the reptiles in our care, ensuring they have the best chance of finding a permanent, safe habitat. While you may be drawn to the appearance of a specific reptile, it’s important to remember that their personality and needs must align with your environment and lifestyle. Just like with reptiles, every creature has unique behaviors and preferences.

Therefore, it’s crucial to understand two things:
(1) Our process is consistent for all, ensuring fairness and thoroughness, and
(2) Our goal is not to frustrate you, but to find the best fit for both you and the reptile.

With a high success rate in rehoming reptiles, we take great pride in our program’s standards. Our ultimate priority is securing a happy, thriving future for every reptile in our care.

Once you’ve submitted your online adoption application, one of our team members will reach out to you ONLY IF YOU ARE APPROVED to meet the reptile you’ve applied for. We will contact you as soon as possible if we believe the reptile is a good match for your home and environment. Our goal is to ensure a perfect match, so patience is appreciated as we carefully assess each fit.

Meet Puck – $50

Puck was hit by a car, skidding across the road like a hockey puck. Puck is a full-grown male yellow-bellied slider, and we suspect he may have been a pet that was abandoned. When we first found him, he was severely dehydrated and had road rash, but he’s come a long way since then. After about five months together, he’s become very comfortable. He eagerly eats anything offered and loves lounging on his rock to bask. He’s truly a beautiful turtle who is just looking for his forever home. Can that be you?

Meet Sloth – $50

Sloth is a fantastic male ball python estimated to be over ten years old, and he truly embodies the calm confidence that comes with age. Steady, reliable, and wonderfully relaxed, he’s the kind of snake who makes handling feel peaceful and effortless. Past the delicate baby stage, Sloth has proven himself to be hardy and consistent, thriving with a simple, steady routine. If you’ve been hoping for a seasoned, easygoing companion with a rock-solid temperament, this handsome gentleman may be your perfect match. Submit your adoption application early to get dibs on Sloth — a ball python this dependable won’t stay available for long.

Meet Rio- $50

Meet Rio, a 1.5-year-old female leopard gecko who’s ready to find her forever home. This lovely girl has been medically cleared and is doing great, but she’s still learning to feel comfortable with handling and new environments. Rio will thrive with someone patient and understanding—someone willing to go at her pace and help her build trust over time. With consistency and gentle care, she has so much potential to grow into a confident and wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a gecko you can truly bond with and help come out of her shell, Rio might just be your perfect match. Adoption applications are now open.

Meet Mochi- $50

Mochi is a sweet 1.5-year-old leopard gecko who’s been medically cleared and is ready for his forever home. He can be a little shy at first, but quickly becomes curious, friendly, and loves to curl up with his people. He’s a great eater (dubias and mealworms), uses his humid hide well, and has healed nicely from past stuck shed and a minor tail tip injury—though the tip may always look a little unique. With proper care and supplementation, Mochi will continue to thrive. He’s a gentle, lovable little guy who will make a wonderful addition to the right home.

Meet Lorelai- $50 – MEDICAL HOLD

Once medically cleared, she’ll be ready for adoption—those interested are welcome to apply for her in the meantime.

Meet Buddy – $50

Buddy is a 5-year-old male bearded dragon currently awaiting medical clearance from our vet. While he’s not comfortable with handling just yet, with patience and time he has the potential to warm up and become a wonderful companion. He’ll do best with an owner who understands his boundaries and is willing to go at his pace. Those interested in giving Buddy a loving home are still welcome to apply for him in the meantime.

Meet Lenora – $50 – MEDICAL HOLD

Meet Harriet – $50 – PENDING

Meet Harriet, a graceful 13-year-old leopard gecko with a calm spirit and a quiet resilience. After many years as a beloved educational ambassador at the West Hartford Children’s Museum, she came to us following the museum’s unexpected closure. Harriet is gentle, observant, and well-socialized, and she would do best in a home with older, respectful children or adults who can provide the steady care she deserves in her golden years. If you’re looking for a leopard gecko with a soft presence and a meaningful story, Harriet may be the perfect match. Adoption applications are now open.

Meet Ember – $50 – PENDING

Ember is a sweet, gentle male bearded dragon currently on medical hold as he completes treatment for coccidia — but he’s absolutely worth the wait. This handsome boy is Adenovirus positive (asymptomatic) and will need to be the only dragon in the home to keep him healthy and thriving. Ember has already captured our hearts with his calm nature and effortless, photogenic charm. He’s the kind of easygoing companion who settles in close and simply enjoys being part of the room. Once medically cleared, he’s going to make an incredible addition to one very lucky forever family. If you’ve been hoping for a loving, laid-back beardie to welcome home, now is the perfect time to plan ahead. Submit your adoption application early to get dibs on this special boy and be first in line when he’s read.
