Our Mission

A Shedding Chance Reptile Rescue was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes related to the rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible placement of pet reptiles. We provide a haven for pet reptiles in need of foster care. We offer foster care for animals in need of rehoming. We strive to make a positive impact on the lives of reptiles by promoting their conservation and raising awareness about their importance.

Our Inspiration

Reptiles and Amphibians need our help more than ever! Not only are their native species declining in the wild, but their domesticated counterparts are suffering from abuse, release, and neglect – like cats and dogs do. The exotic pet industry has grown 13% from five years ago, according to The Global Pet Industry. This has resulted in an increased demand for exotic-specific rescues. That’s where we come in!

A Certified 501(c)(3) Non-Profit

Your tax-deductible donation to a 501(c)(3) makes a meaningful difference in the lives of these unique creatures. We at A Shedding Chance use your life-saving donations to provide essential care. This includes veterinary treatment, food, housing, and supplies. We also fund educational programs promoting responsible reptile ownership.

The People Behind A Shedding Chance

We are a dedicated group of volunteers united by a shared mission: to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving forever homes for reptiles and amphibians in need. With a passion for these often-overlooked creatures, we work tirelessly to provide them with the care and support they deserve, ensuring they have a chance to thrive in safe and nurturing environments. Through our collective efforts, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of these remarkable animals and promote a greater appreciation for their unique needs and qualities.

AMAZING RESCUE

This rescue is amazing! The dedication and commitment to helping reptiles in need gives those reptiles a second chance at life. I adopted a ball python from this rescue and he’s the sweetest snake I’ve ever met.
